I received my Bachelor’s and Master of Science in Pharmacology/Toxicology from the University of London and PhD in Cancer Cell Biology from the University of London, Queen Mary and Westfield College (St. Bartholomew's and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry), London, UK. I did my Post Doc at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine (Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care). My background is in medical research and teaching in medical school. I was involved in medical research, including human lung cancer, primary pulmonary hypertension, trauma research, amongst others, both at CU School of Medicine (Dept. of Medical Oncology and Cardiothoracic Surgery) and Denver Health (Shock Trauma Center). I joined RVU in 2010 as an Assistant Professor of Physiology and have taught in many different courses in COM I and II, PA, and the Master's program. I am also involved in teaching in the Tracks and Special Programs (Global Medicine and Urban Underserved Tracks) and the Elective Course (Religion, Health and Healthcare). Teaching in medical school is my passion, empowering students to master complex materials, understand the core part of medicine, fostering lifelong learning, and watching them become excellent and empathetic physicians.
