Jensen Fisher, MLIS, AHIP, is the Assistant Director of Library Services at Rocky Vista University’s Colorado campus and an Assistant Professor in the Medical Humanities Department. With a background in history, anthropology, and health sciences librarianship, he brings an interdisciplinary lens to research support, scholarly communication, and academic leadership. At RVU, he oversees library operations and fosters an environment of equitable access and research excellence.
His teaching and scholarship emphasize patient-centered methodologies that integrate ethical information use, narrative medicine, and digital literacy. He contributes to curriculum development for the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Master of Science in Biological Sciences program, ensuring that future healthcare professionals are prepared to serve diverse communities with compassion and integrity.
Jensen’s research interests include the health humanities, medical misinformation, health equity, and curriculum assessment. He is particularly focused on inclusive scholarship as a means of advancing social justice in medical education, with work in areas such as graphic medicine, gender-affirming care, and the structural determinants of health.
He has supported more than 100 faculty and student-led research projects and is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences. His recent scholarship explores the impact of service-learning on student empathy, innovative medical devices, and the psychometrics of educational interventions in preclinical training. He also engages in creative and public scholarship, including digital humanities projects and media analysis at the intersections of pop culture and health literacy.
